Permanent roofline lighting and holiday light installation
LED lights mounted in a slim track under your roofline and controlled from your phone, for every holiday and game day. No ladders, no tangled strands, no clips through your shingles.

Lights that stay up and out of sight
Permanent lighting is a run of LED lights set in an aluminum track that mounts along the fascia or under the roofline. We match the track color to your trim, so in daylight it's hard to spot from the street. After dark, it's whatever you want it to be.
Each LED can be set to its own color, which is what makes patterns, chases and multi-color displays possible from a single run. You change all of it from an app, by zone, so the front of the house and the garage can do different things.
Because roofers install it, we treat it like any other work at the roof edge. The track is fastened into solid fascia and trim, wiring is routed neatly to the power supply, and nothing is clipped or drilled through your shingles.
What you can do with it
- Every holiday on a scheduleSet Christmas, Halloween, the Fourth of July, Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day once, and the colors change on their own each year.
- Game daysBlack and gold on Hawkeyes Saturdays, cardinal and gold for the Cyclones, or school colors on a Friday night.
- Everyday warm whiteSoft accent lighting for evenings, porches and get-togethers, on a sunset timer.
- Patterns and effectsChases, twinkles, fades and color sweeps, from subtle to full show.
- Security lightingBright white over the driveway or along dark sides of the house, on a schedule while you travel.
- Family occasionsA color for a birthday, school colors for a graduation party, or a slow warm fade for a backyard gathering.
Permanent or seasonal lights
We do both. Permanent lighting is a bigger one-time project that ends the yearly hanging, while seasonal installs suit homes that only decorate in December.
| Factor | Permanent LED track | Seasonal install |
|---|---|---|
| How long it stays up | All year, hidden in daylight | The holiday season only |
| Colors and effects | Any color, set from an app | The strands you choose |
| Ladder work each year | None | We hang them and take them down |
| How it attaches | Track on fascia or soffit | Clips on gutters and trim |
| Storage | Nothing to store | We can store them off-season |
How permanent lighting is installed
Walk-around and design
We look at your rooflines, decide where the runs and zones go and find a spot for the power supply near an outlet. If there isn't an outlet in a workable place, you may need an electrician to add one before install day.
Pick a track color
You choose a track color from samples to match your trim or fascia.
Install
We mount the track, set the lights and route the wiring cleanly to the controller.
App setup
Before we leave, we set up the app on your phone, program your first schedules and show you how to change them.
Seasonal holiday light installation
If you prefer traditional strands, we hang them along gutters, rooflines and porch trim in the fall, take them down after the holidays and can store them until next year, so they don't end up in a tangle in the garage.
Either way, the ladder work is ours. Hanging lights on a two-story roofline in November wind and early ice is exactly the kind of job worth handing to a crew that works on roof edges every day.
Book early. Fall is the busy season for holiday installs, and the dates closest to Thanksgiving fill first.
We never drill or clip through shingles to hang lights. Every attachment goes into fascia, soffit, gutters or trim, so your roof stays watertight.
Questions about holiday lighting
How much does permanent lighting cost?
It depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how many zones you'd like to control separately and how many corners and peaks the track has to follow. We measure first and price each home individually. The estimate is free and in writing.
What happens if a light stops working?
The systems we install are built so a failed light or section can be replaced without pulling down the whole run. Call or text (515) 555-0147 and we'll come out and fix it.
Can you see the track during the day?
Very little. The track is color-matched to your trim and sits tight under the roof edge, so most people don't notice it from the street. Up close, you'll see a slim channel with small lenses.
Do I need Wi-Fi?
For app control, yes. The controller needs to reach your home Wi-Fi from where it's mounted, often in the garage. If the signal is weak there, a Wi-Fi extender usually solves it.
Can permanent lights be installed in winter?
Yes, as long as the roof edge is clear of ice. Many homeowners schedule in late summer or early fall so the lights are ready for Halloween and the holidays.
